Aframax “HILDEGAARD” (99,123 dwt, Built 1999 Daewoo, B&W – 16,666 ldt) – also due for special in November, has been sold for US$ 8.7 million. Vessel has been renamed “HEIDI” earlier this week indicating she may already be delivered.
Formosa Plastics has concluded sale of the LR1 “FPMC P EAGLE” (74,863 dwt, Built 2009 STX, epoxy, 3 pumps, MAN-B&W)
 and sister “FPMC P FORTUNE” (74,862 dwt, Built 2009) at US$ 16.1 million each. Indications are that Centrofin, who purchased the sister “FPMC P GLORY” (74,862 dwt, Built 2009) for about US$ 15 million in November have agreed to pay up to get these two as well.
IMO III sister vessels “CAPE BEALE” (40,327 dwt, Built 2005 Hyundai Mipo, epoxy, 12 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W – ss/dd due 3/2020 – 8,688 ldt) and sister “CAPE BRASILIA” (Built 2006, ss/dd due 3/2021) have been sold for US$ 18 million en bloc.
Waruna, Indonesia is said to have purchased “EMMANUEL TOMASOS” (37,113 dwt, Built 2002 Hyundai Mipo, IMO III, epoxy, 12 tanks/pumps, B&W) for US$ 6 million. Aegean Marine has sold “RIZOPON” (34,999 dwt, Built 1999 Guangzhou Shipyard, epoxy, 10 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W) for US$ 4.75 million, ss due 11/2019.
Greek buyers are paying US$ 5.5 million for the stainless steel chemical carrier “OMAIR” (13,034 dwt, Built 2004 Higaki, IMO II/III, 16 tanks/pumps, B&W – ss due 12/2019)
The twin-engined “COASTAL JUPITER” (5,518 dwt, Built 2013 Guangzhou Hangtong, epoxy, pumps 2 x 1,000 cbm, 2 x Daihatsu) has been sold locally in Singapore to Hong Lam for US$ 4.5 million.
The undertow from the continuing decline in the Cape size market (closed at US$ 4,236 pd down from US$ 5,065 pd last week) once again dragged the BDI down with it: 649 today against 664 the week before. Improvements in the Panamax, Supramax and Handy sizes were insufficient to outweigh the decline.
Three Kamsarmax sister vessels built in 2015 at Jinhai have been sold subject inspection for US$ 47 million en bloc, an average of US$ 15.67 million per vessel. They are “FH FANG CHENG” (81,458 dwt, Built Jinjai 2015, MAN-B&W), “FH RI ZHAO” (79,489 dwt, Built 2015 Jinhai, MAN-B&W) and “ZHEN BANG” (79,343 dwt, Built Jinhai 2015, MAN-B&W).
Ultramax “OCEAN NEERAJ” (64,000 dwt, Built 2019/03 Cosco Zhoushan, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) has been sold to Minsheng for US$ 22 million for prompt delivery ex-yard (note however launching took place in 2016.
Tufton Oceanic, who in September 2016 paid US$ 28.5 million en bloc for the sisters now named “MALMO” and “MELBOURNE” (61,414 dwt, Built Oshima 2010/2011 resp., cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) have sold them on to Pacific Basin for US$ 33 million en bloc (US$ 16-17 million each resp.).
Diligent Holdings, Greece have purchased Doun Kisen’s “KOREAN LILY” (58,713 dwt, Built 2010 Kawasaki HI., cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) for US$ 14.6 million. Last month Diligent paid US$ 12 millon for “ALSTER BAY” (55,400 dwt – also Kawasaki-built, in 2008). The sale is also reported of “STOVE CALEDONIA” (58.092 dwt, Built Tsuneishi 2010, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) for US$ 14.3 million.
In a sale on subjects, Korean buyers are paying US$ 12 million each for “SOLAR KING” and “SOLAR JADE” (57,450 dwt, both built  2013 Taizhou Sanfu, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W).
Baru Delta Maritime, Greece are paying US$ 13.5 million for the Mitsui-built Supramax “OXYGEN” (55,525 dwt, Built 2009 Mitsui, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W).
Vietnamese buyers have agreed to pay US$ 8.4 million for “GLOBAL PROSPERITY” (33,721 dwt, Built 2006 Shin Kochi, cranes 4 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi).
Panamax “PRIMROSE” (74,716 dwt, Built 2001 Hudong, MAN-B&W) formerly owned by D’Amato and which is lying at Zhoushan with surveys overdue, was sold at auction on Wednesday to local Chinese buyers for US$ 5.3 million.
Old Handymax “NIKIFOROS” (45,693 dwt, Built 1996 Tsuneishi Japan,  cranes 4 x 30 tons, B&W – 7,488 ldt) has gone for US$ 3.3 million, delivery China.
Handy size  “AROSA” (28,542 dwt, Built 1996 Tsuneishi Japan, cranes 4 x 30 tons, B&W) is sold, a price of US$ 4.45 million was agreed.
MR product carriers - Yangzijiang is to built four 50,000 dwt MR product carriers for its own account (Yangzijiang Shipping) delivery late 2020; no price has emerged.
Kamsarmax – two of 80,000 dwt, Tier III, scrubber fitted, ordered in Japan at Namura for undisclosed buyers, delivery 2021, price US$ 34 million each.
LNG bunkering tankers – two of 20,000 cbm with up to four options ordered by Stolt Nielsen Gas B.V. at CIMC, US$ 50 million each.
PCCs – two of 3,800 car capacity to be built for China Merchants at CMHI, Jiangsu, delivery 1Q2021.
Ethane Carriers – three 93,000 cbm ethane carriers for Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical at Samsung, price US$ 121.3 million each, following cancellation of an earlier order for the same vessels last year.
Woodpulp carriers – COSCO Shipping Specialised Carriers has ordered four of 62,000 dwt at COSCO Dalian, price US$ 33.7 million, delivery 2021.
