Vitol has purchased the Suezmax “ENERGY TROPHY” (157,470 dwt, Built 4/2018 Hyundai Samho, 3 pumps. Wartsila main engine) for US$ 62.5 million; Vitol has had the vessel on charter for the past 9 months, since delivery.
The Aframax sister vessels “TROVIKEN” - 2006, “TELLEVIKEN” - 2005 and “TROFTVIKEN” - 2005 (all three built by Samsung, 3 pumps, epoxy, MAN-B&W) have been sold to an undisclosed buyer for around US$ 48-49 million en bloc.
LR1 sister vessels “FORMOSA FALCON” and “FPMC P ALPINE” (70,426 dwt, Built Universal 2005 & 2004 resp., epoxy, 3 pumps, B&W – 12,554 ldt – next ss 8/2021 & 11/2019) have been concluded to Far Eastern buyers for US$ 16 million en bloc.
It’s reported that MR resale NB HYUNDAI VINASHIN S472 (50,000 dwt for delivery from Hyundai Vinashin 12/2020, epoxt, 12 pumps, MAN-B&W) and sister S472 have been sold for US$ 34 million each.
Roswell Tankers, Greece are buying product carrier “FSL HAMBURG” (47,496 dwt, Built  2005  Hyundai Mipo, epoxy, 12 pumps, MAN-B&W) for US$ 11.96 million; when delivered this vessel will become the largest in the Roswell fleet. “TORM AMAZON“ (47,275 dwt, Built 20021 Onomichi Dockyard, epoxy, 4 pumps, MAN-B&W) is sold to Seven Islands, India for US$ 8 million.
Stainless steel chemical tanker “BOW FUJI” (19,805 dwt, Built 2006 Kitanihon, IMO II/III, 22 tanks/pumps, Mitsubishi) is sold for a price in the high US$ 11 millions. A smaller stainless vessel, “SILVER QUEEN” (8,831 dwt, Built 2003 Murakami Hide, IMO II/III, 14 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W) has obtained US$ 7 million from Indonesian buyers.
All of the bulk indices are in the red since last week and the BDI is showing a decline of 207 points to 905 (1112). The Cape size TCE closed at US$ 13,288 down from US$ 15,746.
Trasmed has resold a pair of NB bulkcarriers of 84,700 dwt, Hulls 854 & 855 out of  Sasebo for delivery May & June 2019, price US$ 32 million apiece. These are interesting vessels with a 229m LOA that qualifies them as Kamsarmax but without the usual Panamax beam so they are attractively shallow drafted.
In a sale by CMB to CMB* the Cape size “MINERAL BEIJING” (174,083 dwt, Built SWS 2004, MAN-B&W) has been sold for US$ 13 million with bareboat back. (*Sold by Compagnie Maritime Belge to China Merchant Bank).
Post-Panamax “A NAVIGATION” (93,236 dwt, Built 2010 Jiangsu Newyangzi, MAN-B&W) is reported to Hong Kong buyers for US$ 14.9 million. Kamsarmax “GRAND AMANDA” (79,467 dwt, Built 2011 Jinhai Heavy Industry, MAN-B&W) has obtained  US$ 12 million with dd due 7/2019.
Dalex is reported as the buyer of the handy size “OCEAN NEPTUNE” (37,189 dwt, Built 2012 Hyundai Mipo, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) at US$ 13.65 million.
Norden has sold “NORD TOKYO” (28,343 dwt, Built 2009 Imabari, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) for US$ 8.5 million with ss due this year. “SSI MAGNIFICENT” (32,258 dwt, Built 2009 Kanda, cranes 4 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi) is sold also, as is “MAESTRO LION” (31,857 dwt, Built Saiki 1999, cranes 4 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi) – no price reported for either of these so far.

Hansa Heavy lift is selling the heavy lift vessel “HHL NEW YORK” (19,866 dwt, Built 2011 Hudong-Zhonghua, cranes 2 x 400 tons, 1 x 180 tons, MAN-B&W) to Spliethoff for US$ 11.5 million as well as “HHL MISSISSIPPI” (12,669 dwt, Built 2009 Jiangxi Jiangzhou Union, cranes 2 x 180 tons, Mak) for US$ 8.5 million and  “HHL TYNE” (12,771 dwt, Built 2009 Taizhou Sanfu, cranes 2 x 150 tons, MaK)  and her sisters “HHL ELBE”“HHL AMUR” all at US$ 8.5 million each as well.
Vintage Panamaxes – “REBORN” (74,063 dwt, Built 1999 Tsuneishi Japan, B&W – 9,672 ldt) is sold to Far Eastern buyers for US$ 6.2 million with ss/dd due 3/2019. Sister “MINOAN FLAME” (73,937 dwt, Built 1998 Tsuneishi Japan 1998) has obtained US$ 6.25 million – next ss 3/2023.
“MSC DESIREE” (9,408 TEU, 109,802 dwt, Built 2017 Jinhai Heavy Industry, MAN-B&W) has been sold for US$ 90 million including a 15 year fixed rate bareboat charter to MSC.
Suezmax – the Tsakos Group has placed a contract for two 158,000 dwt Suezmax tankers with Hyundai Samho for delivery SH 2020 – price US$ 65 million.
Containers – CMA CGM is ordering ten 15,000 TEU container vessels from SWS for a total cost of US$ 1.1 billion.
Newcastlemax – six option four 210,000 dwt vessels ordered at New Times, two firm vessels each for Polaris Shipping, H-Line and Pan Ocean. Price US$ 54 million each. Against 5 yearcharters a/c Vale.

VLCCs – Navios has ordered four of 310,000 dwt at Imabari for 2020 delivery, price said to be US$ 92.5 million each.
LNG – Navigare Capital, Denmark is joining the club with an order at Samsung for one 174,000 cbm vessel at US$ 186 million. There are now more than 60 large LNG carriers on order, all at Korean yards, equivalent to 23% of the existing fleet.
Newcastlemax – two of 210,000 ordered by Shangdong Shipping at Qingdao with two options. Price US$ 55 million each, deliveries 2021.
Russia – Sovcomflot has ordered three 51,000 dwt product carriers at the Zvezda shipyard in the Russian Far East. The vessels will be LNG-fueled and classed Ice 1B. No price or delivery info has been made public. Intended charterers are Novatek.
